The time had fully come around to 7AM, yet no sun was in the sky. Especially the day after the Summer Sun festival, this worried Sigma as he began to realize Canterlot Castle was a prime target for an infestation.

"Lets hope Spektrum can help, otherwise im dead weight." Midnight sighed as he felt his leg start to give out

"No way dude, only reason im alive is because i have friends to fight for. Dont think because your leg is out that means ill leave you behind!" Sigma exclaimed with a grin

"Haha, dont start getting soft on me. Just put it on my tab when we re out of this alright?" Midnight joked as he fought the pain

"So you two know each other? How long have you been trained for?" Xirie asked feeling the sense of justice between the two colts

"We met about three hours ago, and trained for a healthy second, considering i haven't ran this far ever since i retired from the Canterlot Air patrol" Midnight laughed as he stretched his wings

"Canterlot Air patrol eh? Sounds like some fancy shit, care to spin us a story before we re jumped by faceless creatures of the dark?" Sigma joked as he looked to Midnight inquisitively

"Well, sure. I beleive having to crack down on drug trafficking was exciting enough. It was the waking up the day after that gave me chills, knowing the day BEFORE we were to keep everything a secret." Midnight foreshadowed

"What happened?" Xirie asked intently

"4 Ponies ended up falling to their death, and 400,000$ in drugs were lost to an escaped convict." Midnight loomed in shame

"Is that why you are retired? You shouldnt regret what happened before dude." Sigma said as he continued to haul Midnight through the woods

"It was my fault, i was empathetic for the convict and believed he would change. Minutes after i let him out of his cuffs he tore my wing straight from its socket. Took years to fix the fall damage." Midnight moaned

"What could be wrong with thinking things change? Honest mistake, its not able to be held accountable for your pony instinct." Sigma said slowly as he tried to comfort Midnight

"Whatever it is, ill get back to finding that convict, dead or alive. That is if he survives the infestation." Midnight swore under his breath

"Infestation....speaking of which id love to spot some coffee over an explanation for why you know of the breakers Xirie." Sigma said sternly as he looked to Xirie

"It has been a passion of mine to control them under awareness, ever since i first came here." Xirie explained quickly " Me and Spektrum came from no freedom to having everything right in hoofs reach, i cant express enough our motivation for keeping the breakers at bay."

"But how did you find of them is what i meant" Sigma asked once more

"They reside in the crystal caves below Canterlot, in the coldest part of the mine. I was there due to finding jobs at the time, and had taken up mining. They are sealed behind a physical door, with no magic, no powers. Somehow they have been released and forced us back to the surface." Xirie lectured

"So you have been living underground keeping them locked away." Midnight intervened  

"Exactly, ever since i first found them." Xirie answered quickly

"Then we gotta shut that door!" Sigma exclaimed with bliss

"It isnt so easy, they thrive in the mines, we would be no match for them without more force." Xirie replied as she was filled with hopelessness

"Please, a bunch of brainless no faced water monsters arent gonna keep my hollow points away." Sigma snapped back

"Hes right, theres no harm in trying considering we have the potential to fight. If they have numbers we have the strength, thats how it has always been." Midnight said with a sense of relief

"But this is not your problem, im responsible for their release, and not informing others on how to defend their selves. You two should get fixed up and leave, theres no sense in throwing your lives away." Xirie demanded

"Fat chance, ive dug my hole, i think saving Canterlot will give that void a run for its money right Midnight!?" Sigma said blissfully

"Right, redemption at its finest." Midnight confidently spoke as he remembered his retirement

".....Thankyou" Xirie mumbled

"Eh no worries, its not like i was gonna sleep or pee tonight anyways." Sigma joked

"Yeah, hes just saving it up for when we re shot at again" Midnight said frustrated as he felt his leg fully give out

At this point Midnight was incompletely limping, and the time was running out as his artery was gushing more and more blood.

"Hang in there buddy, just tell us where you found her" Sigma noted

"Behind that hill, down the slope" Midnight moaned trying to focus

The three ponies reached the hill, and upon arriving immediately noticed the brightly colored mare cooking with a fire.

"Spektrum! We need your help theyre friendly!" Xirie exclaimed

"I know, i just dont like guys i cant have" Spektrum joked crookedly

"Oh please, freakin....bitch....." Midnight mumbled

"Stop it. Theyre here to help not date you" Xirie disciplined

"Yeah besides you shot me without even asking my name!...phyco!" Midnight shouted

"Whatever, i was bored. Now show me your leg before i shoot it again." Spektrum spat back angrily

"Psh" Midnight laughed as he saw Sigma and Xirie picking him up again "Wait! Your not seriously bringing me down there are you!?"

"You need the help, i promise it wont hurt." Xirie said slowly

"Your crazy! Shes gonna eat me alive if she can! I-I!!!.......................what?" Midnight panicked as he realized his leg was already fixed "........ thank you?"

"Mmhm, yeah." Spektrum said with a dull face

"So....how did you do that again?" Midnight questioned intently

She has always had the ability to manipulate colors to work as such, wither its physical offense or healing." Xirie informed  

"Yeah...cus THAT doesnt seem far fetched.....how did she really do it." Sigma said sternly

"I swear, the colors she binds are magic" Xirie pleaded

Sigma looked to Midnights leg, and shrugged at Spektrum.

"So why are you intent on shooting ponies that arent the enemy? How do i know you wont shoot me right now?" Sigma questioned

"You dont, im just like that Mister" Spektrum laughed as she licked her lips

"Spektrum! Stop it! You will not hurt them again! I cant believe you didnt even bother to check if Midnight was friendly!" Xirie shouted

"I said i shot because he was cute, not because i thought he was a dumb old breaker!" Spektrum argued back

"Right, because all flirting starts with a bow and arrow" Midnight joked

"You know you cant resist." Spektrum laughed as he raised her leg

"Whoa dude! Check it out!" Sigma shouted in hilarity

"Im not looking! Im not looking!" Midnight roared

"Spektrum for the love of Celestia stop it!" Xirie said as she grabbed Spektrums leg

"Whatevs, im gonna go hunting again, dont be surprised when i bring back fresh meat." Spektrum spat back as she climbed into the trees

Sigma rolled on the floor in sheer amusement as Spektrum disappeared.

"Im so sorry Midnight, shes not the most morally concerned mare but i promise she would have not killed you" Xirie said brushing off a leaf from Midnights back

"Sure, im positive shes not INSANE! Crazy, color thing..." Midnight mumbled once more

"Hey Midnight, bwaha! Did you like that view! AHAHAHAHA! " Simga joked as he continue to laugh

"Ok seriously! Knock it off we have bigger things to take care of!" Midnight shouted as he looked around

"Yeah yeah, we ll get things going now, just promise me you look next time its awesome!" Sigma roared

"Psh...youve all lost your minds" Midnight joked back with a smirk, as the three ponies walked back up the trench
